Working Group Molecular Quantum Systems

Head: Prof. Dr. Mario Ruben

Our research activity at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is oriented towards the design of functional nanosystems by state-of-the-art organic/inorganic synthesis and supramolecular self-assembly techniques for their implementation and integration into devices.

A topical focus of our work is the development of coherent spin-photon interfaces for  quantum information processing systems where the spin of rare-earth ions embedded in organic molecules can be operated as a quantum memory that can be switched by light control between different quantum states.
